National turned to Lafti McKenzie Gor to slow the red cub

The Chicago cubs go to their fourth straightforward victory when they play Washington National in the middle of their series on Wednesday night.
Chicago took the series opener 8-3 and won 13 of his last 16 matches. Washington lost two in a row after winning four directly.
Michael Bush scored Tuesday’s game for a double shy of the cycle, a walk with 3 -for -4, three RBI and two runs with two runs.
Chicago left-handed Matthew Boyd (5–2, 3.08 ERA) on Wednesday opposed Washington’s left-arm McKenzie Gore (2-5, 3.16).
In addition to a clown against Cincinnati Reds on 25 May (four -earned runs in four innings), Boyd has allowed three earned runs or less in each of his starts and has not suffered losses since April 25.
Last time, Boyd played six innings in a win against Colorado Rockies, allowing an unknown run on four hits, while eight came out without walking.
“Matt was great,” said the manager Craig Counsel. “His change was a very big pitch today. They actually used it well. In some big places, it was a bunch of bending on it (Catcher Carson Kelly). Overall a good game.”
Boyd made his only pre -start against Washington, giving three runs in 5 2/3 innings on May 19, 2023.
Gore, meanwhile, leads the National League in strikeouts (101) and only 21 batsmen have gone in 68 1/3 innings.
At the beginning of his last two, Gore has allowed a run in 12 innings. On May 29, he threw six scorer innings on four hits without any decision against Seattle Meriners. He scored eight runs without walking and left with a 2–0 lead after getting out of the jam in the sixth.
“You don’t want people to score. It’s 2–0, is actually a close game,” Gore said. “You also understand at that point that a swing lead of the bat can take, so you don’t want to see much further – and we did a good job of it, and we got out of it.”
Tuesday night, as often happens, the cub found crime from various sources.
Pete went with a double, two stolen hiders, two walks and two runs with Crowe Crow-Armestrong 1-for-3. With his 20th theft of the season, he became the fourth fastest prominent-Liguer in the modern era (since 1900), according to MLB.com, to record 15 domestic runs and 20 stolen locations in a season, reaching points in only 60 games. This was his second consecutive game with two theft.
“It is always good to use my athletic ability,” said Cro-Armestrong. “And it is big to be able to do such things, but all are in the right kind of circumstances. So if I am doing the right time at the right time and it’s not attractive, then it’s ok – it’s still – how I want to go about my business.”
Chicago played on Tuesday without outfielder Kyle Tucker, which is day -day with a jam finger.
Louis Garcia Junior had three hits for Washington, with a 1-0 and 3–1 lead.
“It was a strange game,” said manager Dave Martinez. “Some mistakes on defense. And then, in fact, an innings, it was to walk. The walk we got (fifth) innings, and then a base hit. So we have come back yesterday, try to finish all that goods.”
