Links (18-3), playing their second afternoon game over several days, survived in the second quarter after a shortage began. The WNBA-Agni Scoring Defense of Minnesota scored 26 points through the initial 10 minutes, but increased intensity after the break.
Sparks (6–14) went the first three minutes of the second period without scoring a point. Julie Vanalu took advantage of a four-digit los angeles in the quarter after finishing the drought with a 3-pointer at a 7:04 mark, which became the leadership of Minnesota that Links did not surrender the rest of the path.

Kolier chose 17 points, eight rebounds and five Assist, while courtney Williams chose 16 points, seven assistance and five rebels.
Minnesota increased a 27-point lead in the third quarter, before Los Angeles scored 17–0 in the fourth period. Sparks threatened, but in the last minute Emma was very deep in a hole to pull within a single digit to a 3-pointer of the cannon.
Kelsey Plum led Los Angeles with 17 points, assisted 12 and shot 5 to 3 beyond the arch. Ricky Jackson scored 14 points in the loss. Sparks shot 13 out of 27 (48.1 percent) from 3-point range, up to 10 out of 37 (27 percent) for links.
