The NASCAR will switch gear and rotate its championship weekend site starting in 2026.
In the last 23 years, only two tracks have hosted the title race: Homestand-Mamami (2002–19) and Phoenix Raceway (2020-present) season-ending Tripleheader.
With Super Bowl or Final Four, to bring the final of the cup series, the Xfinity series and truck series will promote exposure in more markets at different places.
Unlike those events, the rotation model of NASCAR is played on a similar fields and courts, potentially can change competition due to different -lengths, surfaces and conditions of the track of the circuit.
Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s Executive Vice President and main site and racing innovation officer said, “After the playoffs are more unexpected every year, the championship site to be in a different place, I think you can get different teams and drivers the ability to get up on the occasion to be crowned a champion.”
Kennedy said the 1.5-mile homestand-mammy will host in November 2026, and that 1-mile Phoenix will also be in rotation, but other tracks will be announced later on several factors.
