MWCS: Oregon State flew the lead, cured the edges from Louisville

Omaha, Neb.-Gavin Turley doubled the house Aiva Arquette at the bottom of the ninth innings, causing Oregon State to walk off 4-3 over Louisville at the men’s college world series opening-round game on Friday night.

Beeres (48–14–1) required late dramaticness after leading a 3–1 lead in the top of the ninth when Louisville (40–23) benefited from two Oregon state throwing errors in the same drama.

Beaver’s career leader at Turley, Homer and RBI went to 2 -for -5 with two RBI. Arquette 3 -for -5 ended.

At the top of the ninth, Zion Rose hit a leadoff triple and scored at the center on the tagu Davis’s single, bringing the cardinals within 3–2. After being caught stealing a pinch of a runner, the double-earr play placed a runner in the third place, and the earning neighbors hit a game-tie single.

The Beats were recovered when the Archwet hit each single and came home on the double of the turley.

Kelan Ox (5–0) won despite flying the lead. Jake Schwitzer (4-3) suffered losses.

Oregon State’s Dax Whitney and Louisville’s Patrick Forbes jointly dominated pitching for 19 strikeouts for most of the night, 11 in the first three innings. Whitney fans nine and one allowed an unarmed run in 5 1/3 innings while walking. Forbes scored three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 frames with 10 strikeouts and a walk.

Oregon State scored four hits, a wild pitch and an RBI groundout twice in the fourth. Louisville climbed the board in sixth place on an RBI Infield single, only to see the beaver that went back to the bottom of the innings through a fielding error.

Beaver will face coastal Carolina (54–11) in a winning-bracket game on Sunday, while Louisville will get Arizona (44–20) in an eradication competition on Sunday.
