Mumbai Indians faced Punjab Kings

The Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings will be determined to give their everything in the battle for the top-two finish in their final league stage fixtures of the Indian Premier League on Monday. As four teams – Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, MI and PBK – have sealed the IPL playoff spots long ago, the remaining league matches will determine the final standing. With 17 points, PBKs are currently placed second, but a necklace for Mi will push them to the third or fourth place, installing them for the eliminator on 30 May.
Finishing at the top-to finds difficult for PBK because they not only need a win against a malignant Mi outfit, but hope that GT (18 points) and RCB (17 points) lose their respective final matches.
Thus, PBK, who lost his rear game for Delhi Capital, is in a position of victory against MI in his push for a top-two finish.
For MI, their better net run rate between all four qualifying teams may be beneficial if they defeat Punjab Kings and GT and RCB has lost their matches.
Nevertheless, Punjab Kings will especially look to exclude flaws in their bowling, as they failed to protect more than 200 against the capitals of Delhi here on Saturday.
The site’s small boundaries and batting -friendly wickets can ensure a high scoring clash that will test the bowling attacks from both sides, but on this front, Jaspreet Bumrah -led MI has an edge.
Bumrah has taken only nine matches to take 16 wickets in this IPL, indicating his return to top form and fitness after three months of injury trimmed, but other people in MI’s bowling line-up have also shared equally burden.
Trent Bowlt’s new ball pair-third greatest with 19 wickets-and Deepak four (11) has done great to help Bumrah for a later stages after a match.
Hardik Pandya has swimmed well with spinners Mitchell Santner and Will Jack, which makes MI’s bowling line-up more deadly than Punjab Kings. ,
Arshdeep Singh (16), Yuzvendra Chahal (14), who did not play the last game due to an swallow, and Marco Jansen (14) thus will cut his work against the Indians of Mumbai.
Suryakumar Yadav (583 runs) and Shreyas Iyer (488) have been the basis of their respective batting line-ups and gives more importance as the IPL reaches its trade end.
Punjab will also expect that their explosive opening pair of Prabhasimran Singh (486) and Priyash Arya (362) find a way and set up a strong platform against a strong Mi bowling line-up which has been their biggest strength so far.
Rohit Sharma has blown up heated and cold and MI will expect the senior batsman to be a new inaugural partner after the game. South African Ryan Ryan Ryon, Corbin Bosch and England’s Jacks are set to join their respective national teams.
MI will also be a bit worried about the dip as Tilak Verma. When the team started its turnaround, they had a hit of two fifty consecutively, but Tilak has three outings of single-congested scores, in the last seven matches in the last seven matches, two-knots and two knocks in the 20s.
