Defending MLS Champion Los Angeles Galaxy finally won after setting suspicious records of 16 straight winning matches to start the season.
Now he will ride the pace towards another straightforward victory when he visits St. Louis City on Saturday.
Los Angeles (1–12–4, 7 points) ended 12 failures and four draws to open the season with a 2–0 win on the real salt lake on 31 May.
The performance provided a little light during a half season filled with frustration for Galaxy, who did not give the playoff runs despite finishing at the last place at the Western Conference of the 15-Team.
Los Angeles coach Greg Vanni said, “I don’t see why we can’t get a run.” “For us, as a group, it is about learning how to win and go beyond the finish line.”
Lucas Sanbria and Joseph Pntsil scored goals for Galaxy against Salt Lake. The defensive effort was steely, especially given that the club has finally allowed 36 goals in the league.
“I think more pieces are starting to come together,” Vanni said.
Los Angeles hopes that the standout midfielder Marco Rece (thigh) will return after the absence of one-game. The Rece is combined with three goals with Diego Fagundez, one behind the team leader Christian Ramirez.
The galaxy is trying to defeat St. Louis City for the first time. Los Angeles is 0–2-3 after losing 3–0 to visit St. Louis City on 9 March.
St. Louis City (3-9-5, 14 digits) is also ending a difficult season and ranks 14th in the West.
But the squad has displayed life in its first two matches under interim coach David Kichlele. St. Louis registered a 2–1 domestic victory over the San Jose earthquake at the beginning of the Crichala before falling 2–1 against hosts Portland Timbers on Sunday.
St. Louis took a 1-0 lead on Akil Vatsa’s goal in the 50th minute, but accepted the target of tying five minutes later. The team was aggressive, and Timbers captured when David Ayala scored the winner in the second minute of the second half stops time.
Krichle said that he did not want to compromise for a tie.
“I told them that the performance was very good, but we have to improve,” said Crichle. “… We are playing to win every time when we step on the field.”
Sedric Tacherts, Marcel Hortel and Simon Besar scored goals in a march win over Galaxy. Teuchart led St. Louis with three goals.
