Miles Micolus threw the 5 2/3 scorer innings as St. Louis Cardinals defeated Washington Nationals 8–1 on Thursday night.

Mikolas (5-6) allowed six batsmen and allowed one to walk only two hits. This was a dramatic change from his last two starts, when he allowed 14 runs on 17 hits in 10 innings.

Wilson Contraras hit a homer and scored twice for cardinals, who took two to three games from citizens. Alec Burlson scored two runs, Brendon Donovan had two runs and one RBI, and Maseen Winn had two couples and one RBI.

National Starter Michael Soroka (3-7) conceded two runs on four hits and two runs in four innings. He needed 91 pitches to get his 12 outs

Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the first innings. Donovan finished third, Vinen’s double stood third and scored on Berlson’s groundout.

St. Louis raised its lead 2–0 in the third innings. Donovan hit a single, went on a wild pitch and scored on Berlson’s single.

After CJ Abrams allowed to move away from the game, Micolas retired 13 straight batsmen until Paul Desong hit an-out single in the fifth innings.

Cardinals opened the game with five runs in the sixth innings. Contrarasas led Singal and Larse moved up to third place on the ground-root double of Nutbar.

Nolan Arenado poke an RBI single to the right of the infield drawn. After Nolan Gordeman’s running, Yohel Pozo hit an RBI single, then Victor Scott II entered a forceout to score another run.

Donovan hit a sacrifice fly. Scott stole the second base and scored on Winn’s double and made it 7–0.

Contrarasas raised the margin 8–0 with their seventh-inning homer.

Washington broke into the eighth innings. Delain Lil went to third place on the single of Drew Mils and scored on the choice ground of Jacob Young’s fielder and cut the deficit 8–1.
