
In the history of the New York Mets team, the first European amateur signal signing Italian pitcher is signing Mateo Marali.
A signature ceremony was scheduled to take place in Rovigo, Italy on Saturday, 19 -year -old right -handed hand.
“I am the most proud that Mets are expanding their global footprints,” Met’s Scout Rosario Chiovero said, according to the team’s website. “I want Mets to be a global brand.”
Chioverro began scouting Marali in the European Development Tournament of Major League baseball in London two years ago. When he saw Marali again three months ago in the same tournament in Barcelona, his fastball increased from the mid -80s to the mid -90s.
Fastball Marali’s arsenal is one of the five different pitches, including a “kick change”, which he fulfills by studying the clip on social media.
