After NOC U-turn, Yashsvi Jaiswal recommended home team for 2025-26 season
In a welcome turn of events, India’s rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal will continue to represent Mumbai in domestic cricket for the 2025–26 season. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) confirmed that it has accepted Jaiswal’s request to withdraw his earlier No Objection Certificate (NOC) to move to Goa.
“Yashasvi has always been a proud product of Mumbai cricket,” said MCA president Ajinkya Naik in an official statement. “We have accepted Jaiswal’s withdrawal NOC application and he will be available for Mumbai in the forthcoming domestic season.”
Back in April, Jaiswal’s decision to seek an NOC to represent Goa had surprised many. Speculation swirled about personal reasons and even an alleged fallout with Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane. However, in a detailed email to the MCA last month, Jaiswal clarified that his family’s plan to shift to Goa had been shelved, continuing his desire to stay with Mumbai. He also assured the board that the NOC had not been submitted to either the BCCI or the Goa Cricket Association.
