Mates acquire LHP Jose Castilo from Diamondback

New York Met’s on Thursday added a left -handed batsman to his batsman, which Castilo received in exchange for cash ideas from Arizona Diamondback.

Castillo, making debut for San Diego Padress in 2018, has picked in some parts of five sessions in Majors. Venezuela’s origin excelled, moved 38 1/3 with 52 and 3.29 ERA and 3-3 with 12 walks.

But injuries limited 29-year-old to only two innings in Major from 2019-23.

Castillo signed a modest league deal with Arizona in December 2023 and 21 performance for Triple-e-Reno in 2024. He selected free agency after the season, but re -signed with Diamondback in January.

This season after five demonstrations for Reno, Erizona called Castillo on 1 May and appeared in five matches, leading to eight earned runs in 6 1/3 innings. After giving three runs in two innings on 11 May, Diamondback nominated him for assignment the next day.

To make a place for Castillo, Mates nominated the right -handed Kevin Hergate for assignment. Hurt’s loan appearance in this season was against Arizona on 29 April. He allowed two runs (one earned) and three hits in two innings.
