
On Sunday night, Marsel Hartel’s second half Brace enabled St. Louis City SC to win only the second time in four months as he ralled a 2–1 victory over Portland Timbers.
1-0 in the 54th minute, St. Louis (4–12–6, 18 digits) equaled through the heartel. He won a loose ball in the box and gave a shot roof on goalkeeper Maxim Crepue for his third goal of the year.
Hartel’s second goal came after 13 minutes, which was the result of a cross from the Conrad Walm, bent from the right to the left. Hurtle’s header drove away from Crepue and made his way inside the left post, leading to St. Louis the first leadership in about a month. The target survived a video review based on offsides during the free kick, which was earlier.
St. Louis protected the lead during the last 23 minutes, as well as stops time. Portland (9–6–6, 33 points) produced two good opportunities, but in the 76th minute, Gauz Gujara’s headman flagged off the crossbar and the attempt of David da Costa from the center of the box was removed by goalkeeper Roman Berkey in the 80th minute.
St. Louis avoided the trend of lasting its season-long time, leading to 21–10 in shots and there was a margin of 8–4 in shots on the frame. Halftime had a possibility of 55-45 in the halftime before the end of 52.1 percent to 47.9.
St. Louis interim coach David Krichley said on Friday that he felt that his team was ready to play well after a good training session on Wednesday. It came with a golden opportunity in the sixth minute, but Tomas Totland’s point-twenty-five shot from the right was rejected by Crepue.
Timbers found some traction after 10 minutes and produced a counter attack on the board. Da Costa-on July 5, a 72nd-minute goal fell 2–1 domestic win over New England and ripped the previous one shot of Diving Barki in the 19th minute.
The result dropped Portland to fifth place in the West Table.
