Hosts Miami Marlins, who had their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday, will try to return to the track on Thursday afternoon in a three-game decisive competition against Minnesota Twins.
Minnesota won 2–1 on Wednesday, but Marlins is still on an impressive role.
“We are playing a good brand of baseball,” said Miami Ruki Manager Clayton McCull. “We are coming to Ballpark with the hope of winning and what to do to win it.”
Fielder Kyle Stores have been released to lead Marlins, riding the Nine-Game Hitting Streak (.406, 13-for-32), during which they have five Homer and 11 RBI.
Thursday’s pitching match is a pair of Right-Handers: Ery Perez (0–2, 6.19 ERA) of Miami against David Festa (2-2, 5.40) of Minnesota.
Perez, who has so far faced Minnesota, recalled the beginning of all the 2024 season and Tommy John Surgery.
He made his comeback on 9 June, and Marlins has been alert with him so far. The counting of Perez pitch has increased at four consecutive beginnings, which is going from 70 to 79 to 89 and 93.
Perez has played five innings in his return so far, and he is still looking for his first win since June 25, 2023. With a 2–0 win over Pittsburgh Pirates, Pereas improved 5–1 with 1.34 ERA, looking like a budding superstar at the age of 20.
Since then, however, the perez is 0–7 with seven no-deals and 5.37 ERA.
The good news for Marlins is that the parce looks healthy, throwing its fastball over 100 mph on various occasions. Now he needs only one win.
“My arm is answering,” he said. “I really believe that I will have better results in the future.”
Festa gave four runs, earned three, on 26 September, 2024, during the presence of his only career against Marlins, he earned on seven hits in 4/3 innings. He never picked in Miami.
This season has twins 4-4.
A New Jersey native, Festa, only two career quality begins, one this year. Festa has been better than the house (1-5, 5.43) than the house (3-3, 4.60 ERA starts in nine careers).
For the lineup of Minnesota on Thursday, it would be interesting to see the continuous progress of the third basman Royce Lewis, who returned to the action after a two -week hamstring injury on Tuesday.
This was Lewis’s second hamstring injury this season – both on the same leg – afterpaying them for the first five weeks of the campaign.
The first overall pick Lewis in the 2017 draft has 32 doubles, 35 homes and 113 RBI in its first 183 Major League Games. When he is right, he can be an inter-producer.
“I feel good,” Lewis said, which appeared as a pinch of hitter on Wednesday. “I just want to be healthy. I hate and start from the stop.”
Minnesota’s second basman Willy Castro went on Wednesday 3-for-4, which was his fourth three-hit game of the season. He is batting. 798 with opes. 275.
