Marlins tours National, seeking the first series of season sweeps

Miami will go to his first series sweep of the Marlins season when he will visit Washington Nationals on Sunday afternoon.

For the second consecutive game in the set, Marlins held a late rally on Saturday, won 4-3, when the National scored twice in the ninth innings and left the loaded locations.

Miami will look for her first three-game winning line from April 20-22. Marlins did not leave a series this season, but took three out of four games in his season-opening set against Pittsburgh Pirates.

Marlins Right-Hander Eururi Perez (0–1, 12.00 ERA) will oppose the left-handed Macenzi Gore (3–5, 2.88) in the finale.

“Some deep count and some dishonest balls were found,” Marlins manager Clayton McCulo said. “I felt that he had thrown some good sliders, there was a clearly good velocity in fastball, and I think the command will continue because he just comes back there and returns to the flow of rhythm and things.”

The three career against Perez Washington is 1-0 with 2.30 ERA.

Gore is 1–1 with 1.19 ERA when its last four start, 22 2/3 is out of 33 in innings. He leads the National League with 114 strikes. He left his last start, on Tuesday with a 4–2 lead after six innings against the New York Mets, but Bulpen could not catch it and the citizens lost 5–4 in 10 innings. Gore gave five hits and killed six without walking.

“I felt that this was one of the days where we made pitches when needed,” Gore said. “I don’t think I was very good. But as I said, I thought we made pitches when needed, and we did a good job.”

Gor starts 2–2 with 2.97 ERA in five careers.

On Saturday, Jesus Sanchez made two hits, including a domestic run, and the Calvin Foucher retired James Wood with two outsiders in the ninth innings.

Liam Hicks and Den Myers had made two hits each for Miami, who have won three of their last four matches.
