“Many things have been said about me …”: Rohit Sharma exploded his batting critics into a bang rant

Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from Test cricket, but will continue to play and lead for India in the one -day format. In OD cricket, Rohit is away from India, the leading India for his third champion Trophy Crown. However, Rohit has faced his proper share of criticism for inconsistent performance with the bat. The 37 -year -old has gone through a rough patch, especially in test cricket and in IPL. Now, in an interview, Rohit has called some criticism against him “unnecessary”.

“Criticism is a part of a player’s life. Criticism is necessary and important. But what I am against is unnecessary criticism. I don’t like it,” Rohit said while speaking in an interview with journalist Vimal Kumar.

Rohit said, “A lot of things were said about me. But I do not pay attention to any of it, and it does not impress me.”

Rohit said that he was unnecessarily criticized for weakness against left -arm pacers. However, he chose to focus on his performance instead of retreating critics.

“A lot of things have been said about me – like I can’t play left -Arm fast bouler, and many other things – but now, I don’t pay any more attention to it. Now, if you go and defend it, a lot of things can be wrong. And you will be lost on time, and time will be lost, and time is precious. My job is to attack,” Rohit told.

Rohit is widely considered one of the best modern-day batsmen, scoring more than 11,000 runs in ODI cricket, more than 4,000 runs in Test cricket and India’s highest run-scorer in T20I cricket.

Rohit’s retirement from Test cricket ahead of India’s visit to England in June has left a large hole to fill his place as captain. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Batter Shubman Gill appear favorite.
