Look to expand NL Central lead on cub brooers

Both the National League Central Rivids know that the middle-June is very early to call the division, but the Chicago cub and milveekee briefs in the first place also know that at the end of the upcoming three-game set season, one can go a long way to determine the winner.
Chicago entered the series opener on Tuesday with a 5 1/2-game lead on Milwauki on Tuesday, while St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Red each seated seven games behind the cub in each.
For the best record of the National League, only one game back cub by New York Met’s, recently taken three out of four at home against Pittsburgh Pirates.
Chicago has scored the second most runs in Majors (5.35 per game), but scored just nine runs in four matches against Pittsburgh.
“We expect a low scoring series and means that you have to play on defense and throw the strike,” said Cubes Manager Craig Counsel. “Those things are highlighted and emphasized in such a series.
“Sometimes you swing the bat -you are not going to you, and this is part of it. You have to find other ways to win and I think we have done many winning plays.”
The Chicago Pitching Staff gave just seven runs in the series win, reduced the team’s era to 3.57 – good for the fourth in the National League. It is a trend that Ben Brown (3-5, 5.71 ERA) is expected to continue on Tuesday when creates its 15th appearance (13th beginning) of the right-hand season.
Brown on Wednesday gave Philadelphia Philis six runs in 5 2/3 innings for eight hits. He is in the midst of the seven-start Winless Streak, who last won against the Brothers on 2 May, when he played more than four scorer innings.
Two career begins against Milwauki, brown has given four hits and no runs.
The brokers will start a six-game road trip in the Vrigle field before finishing the week in Minianpolis against Minnesota Twins. Milwauki took three out of three out of four in the division over the weekend, winning a domestic series over cardinals with a win 3–2 on Sunday.
Despite the recent success and the previous NL Wild Card Spot, just 1/2 game seated, Brucers Manager Pat Murphy still thinks that his team has not hit its stride – yet.
“We are not clicking. We are still young, still finding things,” said Murphy. “But it is a group with the right friends and that’s why they play to win.”
Ruki Chad Patrick (3-6, 3.25 ERA) is scheduled to start the 15th beginning of its big career on Tuesday and, like Brown, will aim to post its first win in the month of June.
Patrick on Wednesday scored five earned runs on seven hits against Atlanta Braves and lost 6–2, despite killing eight-fifty batsmen. Patrick, the fourth round of drafts of Arizona, will face the cub for the first time, in 2021.
