In view of the ongoing struggle between India and Pakistan, BCCI on Thursday shut down the PBKS vs. DC struggle in Dharamasala. The match was suspended in half the way of the first innings, in which the floodlights were closed. The fans were soon asked to vacate the HPCA Stadium in Dharmasala, in which BCCI and IPL GC expressed security concerns.

The match in Dharmasala was always under a security cloud after Operation Sindoor. The game of May 11 was shifted, but Thursday’s game was carried forward. Punjab Kings batted first after delay in rain. However, on the half -way mark, the floodlights at the HPCA Stadium were closed due to malfunction.
Soon, the match closed. As the India-Pakistan border struggle increases, IPL and stadium officials were asked to vacate the stadium from fans. IPL President Arun Dhumal himself was on the front, fans queued up in numbers to leave the HPCA Stadium. While no announcement was made in the stadium, local police and officers were on the spot, which led to a slow withdrawal.
According to Cricbuzz, teams and players were taken back to the hotel in buses. The families of the players were evacuated within 10 minutes. Dharmasala is just 60 km from the Indo-Pak border, while 200 km from Jammu, where the drone attack report was going on by Pakistan.
BCCI meanwhile clung to his story of a technical failure, issued a statement.
An official statement said, “Due to an power outage in the area, HPCA is one of the mild towers at the Stadium. The BCCI in-stadium regrets the inconvenience.”
The Cricket Board of India, however, is arranging to evacuate the players, teams, officials and broadcasting crews of Dharmasala. A special train that adjusts all parties is likely to depart tomorrow morning, with all the protection of the BCCI. A decision will also be taken on the continuity of the tournament.
