Links improved 11–0 at home with a close victory over Sky

Courtney Williams scored 25 points on 10-for-17 shooting, and Minnesota Links held a 80-75 win over Chicago Sky in Minianpolis on Sunday evening.

Neeffa Kolier finished with 21 points and seven rebounds for Minnesota (17–2), who won at home in several nights. Kayla McBrid ended with 11 points and five assistance.

Rachel Banam scored 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range, to lead Chicago (5–12). Angel Reese saw a double-dabble with 16 points and 17 rebounds.

Links ended with 10 blocked shots compared to two blocked shots for the sky. Links Forward Alana Smith provided the last and most important blocked shot at the last minute as he attempted a 3-point with 9.1 seconds by Brahme.

Banam hit a jumping shot with 1:27 balance to trim Chicago’s deficit 74–70.

Links took a 76–70 lead with 27 seconds on McBrid’s floating jump shot with 27 seconds.

Akash refused to go away. Reese took a driving with a help from Kia nurse to draw Chicago within 76–72 to go with 23.1 seconds.

McBrid left the 3-population with 17 seconds to cut the Chicago’s deficit by 77–75 with 17 seconds, McBrid.

McBrid and Kolier completed scoring with three free throw to preserve the win for Minnesota.

At the end of the first quarter, the sky reached a lead of 24–10.

Colier made a driving to cut the links of links with 1:41 remaining in the quarter to cut down by 18–10.

Chicago responded by scoring the last six points of the session to gain a lead of 14 points. Rebecca Allen, Reese and Ariel Atkins made each jump shots to eliminate the first quarter scoring.

Minnesota dropped Chicago from 28–13 during the second quarter and took a 38–37 lead over half. Williams, Maria Clendikova and Colorer scored during the 6–0 runs, but Reez pulled out 38–35 from 38–35 to 38–35 with 46.2 seconds in half with 46.2 seconds with a basket for the sky.
