The grandson of National Champion Head Coach and former Tennessee Volunteer Athletic Director Philip Fulmar is the first commitment of Vols in the 2027 orbit.

High School Junior, Linebacker JP Peace on Monday announced his commitment to Tennessee via social media.

Peace’s grandfather set a record of 152-52 in 17 sessions with six second East title and Voltts with a 1998 National Championship. Fulmar was also the athletic director of the school from 2017-21.

Peace’s father, Robert Peace, is also associated with Tennessee Football, has played linebackers for volunteers since 2000-03.

“Naturally, Tennessee was a leading school for him,” Robert Peace told ESPN. “We encouraged him to go to other places and he did so. But Tenasi was a place for him, not only because of the family’s legacy.”

JP Peace, which is currently not ranked by ESPN or 247Sports, has a 6-foot-3, 215-pound lineback at Noxville West High School, located less than three miles from the university.

“I mean, this is really going to happen, such as, an unrealistic experience knowing that I am running at the footsteps of my father, a little bit,” JP Peace told Govols247. “I am excited to do so.”

He allegedly conducted offers from Florida State, Kentaki, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Vendarbult.

“He (inside the linebackers) is very high on coach William Ing,” said Elder Peace. “He has done a great job in JP’s recruitment, and we believe that he is not only going to make him a better player, but is a better person after football. So it was a big impact on this decision that it should be soon.”
