LA28 to use two stadiums for Olympic opening ceremony

The 2028 summer Olympic will merge with the current as the first host city to attend the opening ceremony of two major stadiums, LA28 organizers revealed on Thursday.
Not only the Los Angeles Memorial Colizium will become the first person to play a role in three opening ceremonies, Sophie Stadium in England will also play a role in a detailed program prescribed for July 14, 2028.
Los Angeles were also hosting the Summer Olympics of 1932 and 1984, with Colizium, in the south of the city, both were used in the years.
Sophie Stadium has been home to NFL’s Los Angeles Ram and Los Angeles Chargers since it was opened in 2020. The site has already hosted a super bowl (2022) and the college football playoff National Championship Game (2023).
The opening ceremony of the 2028 Paralympic Games will be specially held at the Sophie Stadium on 15 August.
“The location selected for the inauguration and closing ceremonies of 2028 will highlight the rich sports history and state -of -the -art future of Los Angeles, showing the best to present La on the world stage,” LA28 president KC Vasarman said in a statement. “These two extraordinary places will create an unforgettable experience, welcoming fans around the world, never in an Olympic and Paralympic Games and concludes what will happen as one of the most incredible games in history.”
The details did not reveal which site will have a traditional component of the opening ceremony like athletes’ parade and torch light, but Colizium has a permanent torch used during all events in the site, known as the current home for Southern California football.
While the Sophie Stadium will also be a site for swimming competitions, the collagium track and field event will be organized.
The closing ceremony for the Los Angeles Olympics will be held on 30 July and will be specially held in Colizium. The site will also host the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games on 27 August.
