KL Rahul slams 10th Test ton

With his century at Lord’s on Saturday, KL Rahul is now the only other Indian apart from Dilip Vengsarkar who has more than one century at Lord’s. The century in IND vs ENG 3rd Test also happens to be the Karnataka batter’s 2nd consecutive ton at the iconic venue. The last time he breached the triple figure mark at the “home of cricket” was in 2021 in the 2nd Test. He is also now the second Indian opener who has scored most runs for India in SENA countries, with only Sunil Gavaskar above him.

Rahul paced his knock beautifully, skillfully handling the England bowlers. The batter managed to find a good partner to keep the scoreboard ticking in the form of Rishabh Pant. The duo stitched together a 100+ run-partnership to help India narrow down on England’s lead. Rahul also happens to be the 12th batter to have two hundreds at Lord’s.

Talking about KL Rahul, the opener had a good start to the series. In Leeds, he scored 42 and 137 followed by 2 and 55 in Birmingham. Rahul will be hoping to convert his ton into a bigger score.
