KL Rahul “wanted to save his wicket, rather than its …”: Cheteshwar Pujara Blunt on DC Star’s show vs RR in IPL 2025

Delhi Capital on Wednesday registered its fifth win in six matches in IPL 2025 and to top the points table. However, the victory against Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi was not a smooth for the capitals of Delhi. DC scored 188/5 runs in 20 overs, RR also ended on the same score. The match was set in the super over, where DC won. In the match, DC’s most consistent artist KL Rahul scored 38 runs in 32 balls (2x4s, 2x6s). Cheteshwar Pujara, the star batter of the Indian cricket team, found some flaws in Rahul’s batting.
Speaking on Espncricinfo, Cheteshwar Pujara entered deeply into Rahul’s batting. “KL, being a senior player, I think he wanted to play 15-20 balls and then wanted to go out. But, at the same time, he should have attacked a little more, because he was set, he had enough opportunity to see the pitch, and he knew well by then,” he said.
“He was trying, but he was just trying to exclude the ball. There are times when you cannot connect the ball. Also, his batting order has changed slightly, so, I mean, he is just trying to find out.
Pujara said that it seemed that Rahul was playing to save his wicket.
“Today it seemed that he was a little cautious, he wanted to save his wicket instead of playing his natural game. We have seen this season, the way he is batting. He is batting like this, he is trying to try to try and work for the team. Said.
A Michelle Stark-inspired Delhi Capital on Wednesday defeated Rajasthan Royals through a super over in their Indian Premier League match. 12 runs are needed in the super over, DC got him in four balls. To bat first, Delhi Capital scored 188 runs for five.
In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 27 balls) and Nitish Rana (51 in 28 balls) scored a brisk half-santimeter to lead RR’s charge, carrying the game with visitors to four out of four in 20 overs before Starc by Stark.
RR needed nine in the last over and Stark accepted only eight to spread the game.
Earlier, the home team served well by Abhishek Porl’s 37-Ball 49 at the top of the order and even though KL Rahul consumed 32 balls for his 38, Skipar Axar Patel (34 off 14 balls)
