Katie Leadeki threatens her own world record at the US swimming championship

Katie Leedki on Tuesday exposed the 800m Freestyle World Record on the inaugural night of the 2025 US swimming championship in Indianapolis which she set in Florida last month.
Ledecky was more than a second ahead of its world-ridden pace midway through the scorching heat of 800, but settled to claim a meat record of 8: 05.76. The nine-time Olympic gold medalist embarrassed 1.64 seconds of his world record-purifying the third fastest time in history-but about 14 seconds ahead of the runner-up Claire Venstein.
The winner of each program qualifies for the World Aquatics Championship from 11 July to 3 August in Singapore, while all earn finisher spots of the second place, if all the winners and relay qualifiers are more than 26 per gender per gender.
World Cord holder Bobby Finke followed Ladeki’s performance by hovering 1500 free win. Finke, who won the 2024 Paris Olympic gold medal in 14: 30.67, claimed a win in 14: 48.65 on Tuesday. David Johnson of Texas finished second in 14: 57.83.
The evening finals began as Stanford Rising Junior Caroline Brick placed United States Record-holder Regan Smith in 200 fly in .05 seconds. Bricker 2: 05.80 followed Smith about a second at the last turn before hunting.
In the men’s 200 fly finals, the former-Jorgia Bulldog Luka Uralando lived up to his top seeds with a victorious time of 1: 53.42.
100 fly Olympic champion Torri Hussey demonstrated its versatility by setting up the US Open and completed 100 free records over 52.43 times, which extended Greatchen Walsh (52.78). Simone Manuel, who was the owner of the US Open record, finished third.
Cal’s Jack Alexi broke the US Open 100 free record during the morning prelims in 46.99, then returned to claim the title in 47.17 in the evening. Erizona State Patrick Sammon earned the second in 47.47, naked Chris Guiliono for .02 seconds.
