Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test turned out to be a mixed bag for India. On one hand, Jasprit Bumrah once again led a lone warrior fight with a five-wicket haul to reduce England to 387/10. On the other hand, Karun Nair wasted yet another oppurtunity while batting at number 3. In other news, the future of Asia Cup is at stake, with co-hosts India and Sri Lanka holding the cards. Dukes Drama
The Dukes ball intensified once again on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord’s. The drama came to a head after India’s second new ball only lasted 10 overs. India’s second new ball went out of shape in just 63 deliveries on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. Gill was visibly upset and took his concerns to umpire Sharfuddoula. Bumrah bags fifer
Jasprit Bumrah bagged his 15th Test fifer with four wickets on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG Lord’s Test. As Bumrah got his name on the Lord’s honours board for the first time, he equalled his India teammate Ravindra Jadeja for the most fifers for India in Tests. Bumrah returned to the playing XI for the 3rd Test after opting out of the Edgbaston Test. Read more here.

Babar Azam to be keeper?
Pakistan cricket team isn’t considering Babar Azam as an option for wicketkeeper, new coach Mike Hesson confirmed. The report comes after the former Pakistan captain was once again left out from the T20I squad along with Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi.The new Pakistan coach claimed that Azam was competing for an opening spot, and is competing with Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub. Italy create history!
Italy cricket team has made history by qualifying for the T20 Workd Cup 2026 for the first time ever. Along with Joe Burns and co, Netherlands were the other side to seal their berths in the marquee event from the Europe Qualifier. the T20 World Cup 2026 will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka and is likely to be held between February-March. Lord of the Lord’s Root
Joe Root scaled yet another peak with a stunning performance in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. Having been stranded on 99 overnight, Root reached the three-digit score for a record 37th time in the first over of Day 2. It was the 34-year-old’s 11th Test century against India, the joint-most against the Men in Blue. Read more here.

India, Sri Lanka to boycott Asia Cup?
In a new twist in the Asia Cup 2025 saga, the BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket have decided not to attend the ACC meeting scheduled for July 24 in Dhaka. While the ACC confirmed that the meeting will go ahead as planned, the absence of two co-host nations—India and Sri Lanka—puts the fate of the tournament in jeopardy. The Asia Cup is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 5. Read more here.
