Justin Rose withdrew from the Trust Championship before the third round of Saturday, citing a disease.
Currently, a former world number 1 golfer Rose is ranked 14th in the official world golf rankings, announced his decision on social media regarding recovering before the PGA Championship of next week.
“After becoming progressively ill in the last few days, I have taken the unfortunate decision to withdraw from (Trust Championship),” he wrote on X, Twitter in the east. “I am not in a state to complete, and it is best for me to focus on a quick recovery before next week.
“Thanks to all the fans in Phili for love this week. It’s a special place for me and I regret it that it was not a better week!”
The 44-year-old Rose gave a 7-over-Burbar 77 card during the second round at Philadelphia Cricket Club and was more than 7 after 36 holes at the 72-Man, No-Cut event.
The British are 11 times winners on PGA Tour-the 2013 US Open. He gave Rory McLero a run for his money in the Masters recently before falling less in a playoff.
