Djordje Mihailovic built midway through the second half and collorado Rapids lost three matches with a 1-0 win over the Real Salt Lake on Saturday night at the Rocky Mountain Cup in Commerce City, Kolo’s Commerce City.
Nico Hansen made four saves to record his first MLS shutout at the beginning of his second career for Rapids, which stopped the five-match Winless Stretch (0-3-2). Colorado (5-5-4, 19 points) was vacated in its last two matches.
Real Salt Lake (4-8-2, 14 points) was closed for the second straight match and sixth time this season. RSL is 0-2-2 in its last four matches.
The shots at Real Soult Lake had an 11–6 lead and three of Colorado were placed on the target. RSL star Diego Luna, who has 13 goals of the team, cool with two shots, on a target.
Rafael Cabral had two savings for Salt Lake.
Real Salt Lake was unable to get the ball away from trouble in the 70th minute and was captured by Coal Baset of Colorado. He passed it to Mihleovic, who sent a right leg shot to the left corner of the net.
Mihleovic has scored six out of 16 rounds of Rapids this season.
Colorado had two stellar opportunities to take a two goal lead in the next seven minutes.
Ted KU-Dipiatro ripped a nearest distance left-foot explosion, which barely cleared the crossbar in the 74th minute. Three minutes later, the basset’s hard left -leg shot was saved by the cabral.
The competition with some good aggressive opportunities was much different from the three meetings of the previous season when the teams combined for 16 goals. Colorado won two matches and Salt Lake took another.
The first half shots at the Real Salt Lake had a 6–2 lead.
Colorado had the best scoring opportunity in the first half when Oliver Laraz received the ball in the Net’s close range in the fifth minute. Cabrals came out and stopped Laraz’s right-foot shot to stammy.
