India have made just one change to their playing XI, replacing Prasidh Krishna with Jasprit Bumrah for the IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord’s. India are heading into this contest high on confidence after clinching a historic and massive 336-run win against England at Edgbaston. Additionally, the visitors have won their last two out of three Tests played at the Lord’s. England have won the toss and have decided to bat first in the ENG vs IND 3rd Test.

India playing XI for Lord’s Test

Speaking after losing the toss, Shubman Gill explained that he would have bowled first had he won the toss, adding that it was all about maximizing on the first session and first day.

I would have bowled first. There would be something for the bowlers in the first session,” Gill said.

Spekaing about the change made to the playing XI, the Indian captain said that there was only one change made to the line-up, with Bumrah set to return to action.

Bumrah had played in the 1st Test at Headingley and had even managed to get a fifer. He was then rested for the second Test due to workload management. Krishna, on the other hand, was quite expensive in the 2nd Test. He will now make way for Bumrah who will spearhead India’s pace attack which comprises of Akash and Siraj.

Meanwhile, Karun Nair gets a lifeline after a string of poor performances. He retains his spot in the playing XI and will continue to bat at number three. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been slotted at number 6.

Kuldeep Yadav continues to warm the bench as India have opted for two all-round spinner options in the form of Jadeja and Sundar.
