Jason Gillespi takes Pakistan Cricket Board to court on non-paying salaries: report

Jason Gillespie, the head coach of the former Pakistan cricket team, is taking legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after resigning from the post in December 2024, according to a report Tribune.com. The report claimed that Gilespi has stated that the PCB has given him a bonus to win a Test series over England along with salary and an ODI win against Australia last year. The report quoted sources as saying that Gilespi alleged that the PCB did not honor the ‘written financial assurance’.
Gillyspi has also referred to the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, it is not known whether the ICC has any right to mediate the issue.
Jason Gilespi, the head coach of former Pakistan Red-Ball, claimed that he is still waiting for some remuneration from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the cricket body has responded. On his Instagram account, Gillespie posted a story, which was related to his interview with the Pakistan Media, said that the PCB still had to clean some of his remunerations. Gilespie and South African Gary Kirsten was appointed by PCB in April 2024 on a two -year contracts, respectively, red ball and white ball head coach.
The PCB promised a new era for the Pakistan team, but both below the six -month line were forced to resign, when the board had removed the authority given to them, which included the National Selection Committee. This is the first time any of them have publicly spoken on financial matters with PCB.
“I am still waiting for some remuneration from the PCB,” read one story, while in the other he wrote, “Gary Kirsten and I sold a team to form a team. Losing a game, and suddenly, which was thrown out of the window.” Incidentally, PCB on Saturday invited applications for the posts of the head coach of the national team in Lahore and the posts of Director of its high performance center on its official website.
However, PCB has denied claims.
The PCB declared in its statement, “The Pakistan Cricket Board denied the claims made by a former head coach on the non-paying of its dues.”
“The PCB spokesperson stated that the former head coach suddenly quit his post without giving a period of four months, which was a clear violation of the contractual terms. The coaching contract clearly mentioned a notice period applied to both sides, and the coach was fully aware of it,” said this.
