Jadeja imposed an Ang vs. 2nd Test, fine between BCCI rules?

Ravindra Jadeja has violated a rule launched by BCCI earlier this year and can face an approval between Ang vs 2 Tests

India cricket team star Ravindra Jadeja has breached a rule brought in by the BCCI following the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. As per a set of new rules notified by the board, no player is allowed to travel to a venue on his own and should only use the team bus. However, the southpaw seems to have deviated from the rule and might be at the risk of facing a sanction, although it is mostly unlikely.

Jadeja ignores BCCI rules

As per ESPNCricinfo, Jadeja had arrived at the Edgbaston on Day 2 much before the rest of the Indian team. This means he did not take the team bus and had gone against the BCCI’s SOPs by traveling on his own. However, the report states that he is unlikely to be penalized by the BCCI for breaching that particular rule. Jadeja had opted to come in early on Day 2 in order to get some practice before the play resumed.

It is pertinent to point out that the BCCI had introduced this rule, among others, following the series defeat against Australia. It was aimed at bringing in discipline while also preventing players from having preferential treatments.

Meanwhile, Jadeja narrowly missed out on a well-deserved century after he was sent packing for 89 runs. He stitched a crucial partnership with captain Shubman Gill, striking 10 fours and one six en route to his 89-run knock.

Talking about the ENG vs IND 2nd Test, India managed to get to 587 runs at the end of their 1st innings, thanks to a 269-run knock from skipper Gill. Handy contributions from Jadeja and Jaiswal ensured that India got to the mammoth total. In response, England were reduced to 77/3 at the end of play on Day 2, with Akash Deep striking twice and Siraj once.
