J Monahan on Rory McLero’s schedule: ‘I don’t worry’

PGA Tour Commissioner J Monahan came to protect the Rori McLaroy, whose tournament scheduleing plan will drop him out of the memorial tournament this week and mark the third signature program to miss this season.
“The beauty of our model is the beauty of our model that our players have the ability to choose their schedule,” Monahan told reporters at Muirfield Village Golf Club on Wednesday at the site of this week’s memorial tournament. “What Rory McLero has done, I think it is played in this tournament every year since 2017. And you look at the tournaments that they have supported. I have no worry, because you look at the balance over time, our tournaments and our colleagues’ support is extraordinary.”
In addition to leaving the 50th edition of this week of the memorial, the world’s number 2 player also sidelined the two -signed incidents.
The 36 -year -old Mcilroy raised some eyebrows by choosing the option to leave the memorial tournament in favor of the next week’s RBC Canadian Open.
North Ireland natives have accepted the priority of playing the week before a major championship. Memorial tournaments and Canadians were flipped at open places on the calendar this year, now Canadian leads the 12–15 US Open at the Omont Country Club in Pennsylvania on 12-15 June.
Mcilroy completed his Career Grand Slam by winning Masters last month. He earned his first green jacket and fifth career in dramatic fashion, in the first round two double bogies were controlled and two more before defeating Justin Rose of England in a playoff.
Monahan said, “Look at the season that Rory has done. He had a life-changing season.” “He has won The Players Championship, you win the Masters tournament, you (career) win the Grand Slam and you win the AT and T Pebble Beach Pro M.”
