“It was really difficult”: Ajinkya Rahane reflects KKR’s narrow necklace on CSK

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane admitted that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had difficult to digest two wickets in an exciting Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday. Despite a strong performance by the bowlers, Rahane admitted that KKR decreased by the bat, stating that a single changed the game’s course. “It was really hard (bullet to swallow and lose),” Ren said after the match, as is quoted by Espncricinfo. “We were 10–15 younger, 185–195 would have been an ideal clan on this pitch,” he said.
KKR posted 179/6 in its allotted 20 overs.
Although the total was competitive, KKR failed to defend it, partly due to blistering over 30 runs from Vaibhav Arora, which shifted the speed in favor of CSK.
While reflecting the turn, Rahane admitted, “Absolutely. In this format, one over may change the speed. They (Brevis and Dube) took their opportunities, and paid it. It is all about being brave, and they were really brave.”
While the defeat left KKR in a challenging position, Rahane had no complaints about the efforts of his bowlers.
“No complaints, the bowlers tried their best,” he said, praising the team’s fight till the end.
With only two league games for KKR, meditation now turns into merit scenarios. When asked about his approach to proceed, Rahane kept it simple: “Try to win two of the two, and then see what happens from there.”
The disadvantage KKR needs to win the remaining matches and expect favorable results to keep their playoff hopes alive.
