Ishaan Kishan Sign County Deal after India vs England Snow, will play for Nottinghamshire

Kishan was a part of India, but did not play two matches against England Lions as Dhruv Juril was selected as India’s wicketkeeper.
Ishan Kishan has become the third Indian player to sign a County Championship deal in the space of 10 days. Earlier this month, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Varma had signed deals with Yorkshire and Hampshire. Now, Kishan has signed with Nottinghamshire for just 2 matches.
Ishan Kishan to play County cricket
The wicketkeeper batter comes in for Kyle Verreynne. The South African will be playing a 2-match Test series against Zimbabwe and Kishan will take over the gloves for two weeks in his absence. Kishan will play against Yorkshire from June 22 to 26 at Trent Bridge and Somerset from June 29 to July 2 in Taunton.
Although Gaikwad has signed with Yorkshire, Kishan won’t face him as his stint doesn’t start until mid-July.
“I’m feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills. I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills. Trent Bridge is such a famous ground that is well-known in India and around the world, and I am really excited that I will be playing there,” Ishan said in Nottinghamshire CCC release.
The move seems a perfect way to stay available. Kishan hasn’t been selected in India’s Test squad for England, with Dhruv Jurel piping him. But by staying in England, he could come in as a replacement in case of an injury. Had he returned back to India, it might have been difficult to get a visa so quickly and return.
If he extends his stay in England, he can make himself available if India wants his services. Both Tilak and Gaikwad have perhaps signed deals for the very same reason.
