Is Arshdeep Singh worth a place in India’s test squad? Number ineffective, but diversity requires

Arshdeep Singh has not been regular in FC cricket, but should still be on India’s radar for the England series.
Therefore, Rohit Sharma has already retired, and reports are coming in it, that Virat Kohli is also done in the longest format. This means that two youths will get a chance in the India team for the India vs England series. But the youth side will now not only try to win their first series in England since 2007, but also to wash the sufferings of the Lost series against New Zealand at home, and vs Australia, Down Under.
India needs diversity in speed attack
Spin proved to be a harmful factor at home, and perhaps India was lacking in India, a support bowler for Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Sirj. If we only talk about the attack attack, there is a decrease in the entire chain in one area, or the absence of a left -hand pace for the last few years. So, can Arshdeep Singh fill that void?
Well, in the last Ranji season, he played two matches and took only four wickets, so it did not say much, but then in 2023, looking at his adventures in white-ball cricket in county cricket, the question is why not? He has taken 66 wickets in 21 FC matches so far in his career .. and during his tenure at Kent in Division 1, he took 13 wickets.
Arshadeep Singh’s answer may be
Even though their number may not be excellent, but then where he really makes a strong case – he gives the team a lot of diversity. He can be a powerful option, while bowling outwingers, and the ball can also come in the batsman. It can be an ideal third bowling option for India, as well as with the choice of Japsrat Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Siraj.
Add Prasad Krishna and Shradul Thakur to the mixture, and then India can rotate these bowlers-looking at the bodies of the injury-affected body of Shami and Shami. However, he is already one of the best in T20, and India’s format is the most wicket -taking. He has 99 wickets in 63 encounters, and should be enough for the selectors to consider it.
The number is not great, but the bowler is
In fact, he told Cricket.com in 2023, “Growing up, you always dream of playing (in test). Winning the World Cup is also a goal that a young set for himself. I dream of bowling whites and bowling with that red cherry.
“I want to play all three formats, and whenever I have talked to Jassi Bhai, he has told me,” Tin ho tin ho format khelna hai. White Ball Khelega Toh Achha Hai, but Jab Tu Red Ball Khelega (You have to play all three formats. It is good to play white ball, but when you play red ball), you can create a heritage … ”
