IPL winning list from 2008 to 2023

Let’s take a look at the list of IPL winners from 2008 to 2024.

Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians hold records for each IPL titles, each of which has five championships. The fact is that only two teams have won 10 titles in 17 years of IPL history, highlighting their dominance.

Rajasthan Royals (IPL 2008)

Rajasthan Royals, led by Shane Warne, won the Indian Premier League. The Rajasthan Royals had a completely balanced side in the initial version as they crown CSK as the first IPL winners.

Deccan Chargers (IPL 2009)

Under the leadership of another Australian veteran Adam Gilchrist, Deccan Chargers won the second season of the Indian Premier League. Chargers defeated RCB in the final match of IPL 2009 played in Johannesburg.

Chennai Super Kings (IPL 2010)

The final match of IPL 2010 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. After losing in the inauguration season, MS Dhoni finally managed to get his hands on the IPL Trophy in IPL 2010.

Chennai Super Kings (IPL 2011)

Chennai Super Kings managed to maintain their IPL title after defeating RCB in the final match of the 2011 edition. With this victory, CSK became the first team in the IPL, with two trophies in their cabinet.

Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL 2012)

The IPL 2012 final was played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Following a disastrous start in his chase, KKR made a stunning comeback with Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis, as Kolkata picked up its first IPL trophy.

Mumbai Indians (IPL 2013)

Mumbai Indians were crowned as IPL winners in 2013. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, MI defeated CSK in the final match to lift the trophy.

Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL 2014)

KKR reiterated its antics of IPL 2012 as he won his second trophy in 2014. Leaded by Gautam Gambhir, KKR crown Kings XI Punjab as IPL champion.

Mumbai Indians (IPL 2015)

After CSK and KKR, Mumbai Indians became the third team to win the title more than once. MI once again nominated CSK as IPL winners.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (IPL 2016)

In another heart break for RCB, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 8 runs to crown him as the winners of IPL 2016. David Warner was the captain for Hyderabad as he played an important role with the bat to help lift the trophy.

Mumbai Indians (IPL 2017)

In the final of IPL 2017, Mumbai Indians defeated Rising Pune Superbers by a single run. After putting only 129/8 on the board, the MI bowlers led by Mitchell Johnson (3/26) performed a strong performance to Steve Smith’s RPS to shorten a run in the title clash.

Chennai Super Kings (IPL 2018)

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to his third Indian Premier League title in 2018. Chasing a target of 179, Watson took almost a single-CSK into the title with an unbeaten 117 off 57 balls.

Mumbai Indians (IPL 2019)

Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians for his fourth Indian Premier League title in 2019. The CSK had reached the finals for the second time in a row, but could not pursue a target of 150, with Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga under the joint strength of MI spinners.

Mumbai Indians (IPL 2020)

Mumbai Indians became the second team after Chennai Super Kings, who successfully defended their title as an extraordinary Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2020. He defeated Delhi’s capitals in the final match of the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings (IPL 2021)

Dhoni’s CSK side completed a stunning return to IPL 2021 by picking up the famous trophy. Under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK scored 27 runs in the IPL 2021 final to secure their fourth title, scoring 27 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Gujarat Titans (IPL 2022)

Debutants scripted history after winning their first IPL title. Hardik Pandya & Company defeated Rajasthan Royals at the prestigious Narendra Modi Stadium.

Chennai Super Kings (IPL 2023)

Chennai’s Super Kings lifted their records 5th trophy after winning the defending champs against Gujarat Titans in the IPL final. Due to the need of 10 on the last 2 balls, Ravindra Jadeja performed his best. He broke Mohit Sharma for two consecutive borders to lift the title for CSK.

Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL 2024)

He came, he saw, and he conquered – this is what KKR did in the final of IPL 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who was fatal, but Kolkata fell in front of veterans. First, KKR destroyed SRH’s star-staded batting lineup, limiting them to only 113 runs. Then, he comfortably chased the target in 11 overs, winning by eight wickets.
