IPL 2025 to resume next week; Women of India Tri-series; Jasprit Bumrah rejects Test Captain

DRS, 12 May: With the suspension of IPL 2025, the focus turns into India vs England Test series that begins next month. As the BCCI is working on a date to resume the IPL, selectors are busy discussing the future of players like Mohammed Shami and Shreyas Iyer in tests. After being out of the race of Jaspreet Bumrah, he is also discussing to name the next Test captain of India. In women’s cricket, 11 May was a good day for India. Harmanpreet Kaur & Company defeated Sri Lanka in the Tri-Series finals for lifting the trophy.

Other big updates about IPL were about Australian people. With the possibility of BCCI expanding the IPL by 30 May, some Australian players such as Josh Hazelwood and Mitchell Staror are unlikely to return.

IPL 2025 to resume on 16 May?

This is good news for cricket fans, with agreed to a ceasefire deal after the tension between both India and Pakistan increased tension. BCCI is working on a new stability to resume the tournament next week. BCCI is looking at the start date on 16 or 17 May. However, one week brake may force the tournament to push the final by May 30. This is not all. In some schemes, IPL can be played in four cities – Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The Indian board is also placing a tab on the weather in Kolkata and the final can be transferred to Ahmedabad.

Women of India tri-series

In women’s cricket news, India’s women’s cricket team scored 97 runs to Sri Lanka by 97 runs to achieve the Tri-Series, including South Africa. Smriti Madhana slammed its 11th ODI ton as India posted a total of 342/7 total. Jasprit Bumrah Sacrifice Test Captain

Another big news that overtakes India vs England test was Jasprit Bumrah. Pesar, who was at the forefront of successful as Rohit Sharma as India’s Test Captain, dropped out of the race for captaincy. Bumrah won India in the Perth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, with the workload management paramount for Bumrah, he got out. Bumrah is unlikely to play all five matches of the Test series in England as he has just returned from a three -month injury retrenchment. Shubman Gill is now at the forefront of changing Rohit, who returned from Test cricket this week. Rishabh Pant is also in the race. But Gill is a favorite considering calmly like his MS Dhoni.

With the stress of India-Pakistan, Gujarat Titans have returned to practice. Except for Jose Butler and Garald Koetzi, all the players got stuck all around. As a good form in IPL 2025, Shreyas Iyer is not the favorite of selectors for the test series against England. While Iyer slammed a dual century and a century in the Ranji Trophy, it was not consistent. However, things can change if Virat Kohli retires from tests. It can open a location for Iyer.

However, Mohammed Shami cannot be so lucky. After trimming her long 14 months of injury, Shami has struggled for rhythm, speed and length. In the IPL, he was dropped after finishing a poor run after playing XI from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Along with Harshit Rana, Prasad Krishna and Mohammad Siraj, apart from Bumrah, Shami cannot travel to England.
