IPL 2025: Retailing of Week 4 – MS Dhoni’s heroes, Karun Nair’s story return, Abhishek Sharma celebration and much more

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is reaching the half -way point, and the week went away by distributing some riveting moments. The heroes of this section are Karun Nair, Abhishek Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane and of course, MS Dhoni.
Week theme: Return
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (Mi), three lower teams of last week won the opposite styles. SRH chased 246 against Punjab Kings (PBK) with 9 balls on 12 April. The next day Mumbai Indians topped the unbeaten Delhi capitals with an impossible win. CSK defeated Lucknow super veterans and ended its five-game losing streak.
Week Record: PBK protects 111
Punjab Kings chased the most successful run Chase 262 in the IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer last year. This time, Punjab Kings led by Shreyas Iyer managed to defend the lowest success in the IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR fell from 62/2 to 95, thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal’s 4/28.
Week match: DC vs MI
The metro darby lived up to its expectations. Mumbai Indians looked 205 inadequate, when Delhi’s capitals increased to 119/1 in 10.1 overs. Mi spinners, Karn Sharma and Michel Santner triggled a major collapse, and sealed the deal for MI.
Week moment: Abhishek Sharma celebration
Sunrisers Hyderabad chased an impossible against Punjab Kings, chasing 246 with 9 balls in Hyderabad. Abhishek Sharma broke the highest score (141 runs 55) by an Indian in the Indian Premier League. Abhishek Sharma’s emotional message of SRH loyalty made the opportunity even more special.
Week captain: MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni’s return as CSK captain did not start on a good note. CSK crashed up to 103/9 against KKR in Chennai, his lowest score in a home game. KKR chased in just 10.1 overs. However, the legendary captain led by his amazing captaincy, with his wicket-keeping and also with his batting. Dhoni was awarded the Player of the Match Award against Lucknow Super Veterans. He influenced 3 dismissal and also scored a quick-fog 26* off 11 balls.
Week Miss: Ajinkya Rahane
The decision not to review Ajinkya Rahane proved to be an expensive mistake. KKR was well on the coast at 62/2 chasing 112. Rahane missed the broom on Yuzvendra Chahal and was given a LBW. The KKR captain opted not to use the review. Repley showed the effect of being out of the off-stump. KKR crashed from 62/2 to 95.
Week game: MS Dhoni throw
MS Dhoni gave one of the standout moments of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. They may not have a ‘magic wand’ to reverse the fate of CSK, but they have ‘magic gloves’. Keeper produced a stunning runout to dismiss Abdul Samad of LSG. Dhoni also revealed the trade secret.
Player of the Week: Karun Nair

Karun Nair made his own version of veteran baseball player Pete Rose.
The Karnataka batsman grabbed the opportunity with both hands and with his bat. Playing his first IPL game since 2022, Karun put his first IPL fifty in 7 years and turned it into his highest IPL score (89 runs 40). He scored 26 runs for just 9 balls against the world’s best bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
