IPL 2025: Inconsistent Rajasthan Royals are in dire need of win against Lucknow Super Veterans

An inconsistent Rajasthan Royals will be desperate to plug holes in the departments and will stop the three -match streak on hosting the Lucknow super veterans in the Indian Premier League in Jaipur on Saturday. With just two wins out of seven matches, the Royals are at the eighth place on the table and have come in the competition on the back-dont of the Delhi capitals. As the league collides with a half -way mark, they will need to break the heart quickly if they expect Rishabh Pant’s men to raise and get out of the bottom half.

RR’s campaign has struggled to find pace in both batting and bowling. To make the cases worse, captain Sanju Samson faced a side strain in the last match and was hurt, although he later said he was “fine”. Royals’s batting, built around the Indian Mainstage, has worked very wrongly, which is exposed and under pressure.

However, opener Yashsvi Jaiswal has shaken his battle against Royal Challengers Bangalore and DC with back-to-back centuries. But it has to be seen if he gives momentum in Saturday’s match.

Samson has yet to produce a defined knock, with 66 he has performed his best against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first match of RR. The RR fare against the choice of Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Digwesh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi will depend on his and Jaiswal’s form.

Ryan Parag and Dhruv Juraral have not yet contributed much to the batting front and RR needs to set fire to both when a large clan post or chasing.

Nitish Rana returned with 51 against DC after 81 against Chennai Super Kings last month, and needed to take him to speed.

On the bowling front, Joffra Archer has slowly come into his drain.

But the Royals’ attack as a whole has been toothless. Apart from Sandeep Sharma, his other bowlers have struggled to control the scoring rate.

LSG is also prominent in Saturday’s match after losing to CSK, but he is currently in a much better position, holding four of the seven matches with winning fifth.

His batting form has been the top form with Nicolas Pudan (357 runs from seven matches) and Mitchell Marsh (295 from six matches). Gorn and Marsh are in the top and third game in the batting chart.

South African Aiden Markram has also been in the run, although compatriot David Miller has been a concern as his highest score in seven matches with Form 27.

LSG has scored more than 200 runs in three matches and more than 160 runs in all other matches.

Fortunately, for LSG too, Captain Pants have shown some forms with 63 runs in 49 balls against CSK, which is fifty of the seven matches in this IPL, although in one losing.

LSG bowling was his weakest link at the beginning of the competition with injuries to the main pacers, but later thanked Avesh Khan and Shardul Thakur for some performances.

India’s fastest bowler Mayank Yadav has joined the team after the previous game, but the team management is still waiting for its fitness certificate from the Center of Excellence.

Mayank is recurring with many fitness issues with less back tension fractures.
