IPL 2025: Foreign players team wise list is likely to return to restart




The Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended last week amid increasing tension along the border with Pakistan. However, the tournament is now ready to resume under a ceasefire agreement with India and Pakistan on 17 May. According to the update schedule, the final will now be played on 3 June on 25 June, increasing doubt on the availability of foreign players on 25 May. While England and West Indies are designed to square in a white ball chain, Australia and South Africa will be square in the much awaited World Test Championship (WTC) for the last days after the revised IPL 2025 last date.

Let’s take a look at how the franchise is kept in terms of the availability of players:

Punjab kings: According to a report by ESPNCRINFO, three foreign players – Xavier Bartlet, Azmatullah Omrajai and Mitchell Owen – have confirmed their availability. However, there is no confirmation of whether their other foreign players – Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jensen, Josh England and Aaron Hardy – will return to India.

RCB: His four players – Josh Hazlewood (Australia), Jacob Bethel (England), Romario Shepherd (West Indies) and Lungi NGD (South Africa) – are international commitments to follow. Phil Salat and Liam Livingstone are not named in England’s White-Ball Squad, with the pair likely to be available for the remaining matches.

Mumbai Indians: All their foreign players are ready to add the squad again. However, whether Jack and Corbin Bosch may not be available for playoffs if they are qualified due to international commitments. Afghan spinner Mujib-ur-Rehman is also available for the remainder of IPL 2025.

Gujarat Titans: Save Jose Butler and Garald Koetzi, all their foreign stars decided to stay back in India. However, it is not clear that Butler, Cagiso Rabada and Sherfen Rutherford will get to stick the NOCs after the league stage.

SRH: Captain Pat Cummins and Travis Head will return to resume, despite the team being out of the playoff race already. Henrich Klassen has also agreed to join the squad. However, there is no confirmation here yet whether other foreign players of SRH – Heinrich Klassen, Ishaan Malinga, Kamindu Mendis and Vian Malder – will return.

Chennai Super Kings: Noor Ahmed, Developed Bruz, Matheesha Pathirana, Davon Conway are all expected to join the squad. However, there is no clarity on Rachin Ravindra’s return. Sam Curan is expected to join the squad, while Jamie overson may not be available.

Delhi capitals: According to Australian media reports, Pacer Michelle Starc is unlikely to return. Jake Fraser-Makegurk has decided to sign Mustafizur Rahman with DC as his replacement. The rest of his foreign party is expected to join the squad in the coming days.

KKR: Andre Russell, Sunil Narin, Rowman Powell, Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz are also expected to join the squad. However, the availability of Moin Ali and Spencer Johnson is not clear.

Agitation: Except for Aiden Marcram, all their foreign players are likely to return.

Rajasthan Royals: RR is already out of the playoff race, there is the possibility of leaving the remaining matches.
