India’s Test bowling in Tatters: Shami and Akash Deep fell, Bumrah is not 100% for England yet

Except Prasad Krishna, all other Indian bowlers have seen their own shadow in IPL 2025.

The dust will soon settle at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. We have around 28 league matches which are combined with four knockouts before Caravan’s five -match Test series. Mind You, it was 17 years ago when India last won a red-ball series in England. But in the five -match test series, the waiting has been on for 92 years.

But what if we say that waiting will continue for longer? India will require a miracle to get anything from a difficult testing chain that is bacon. why so? Well, the reasons are famous. The greatest one can be a dominant dip for all Indian bowlers going in a summer season.

IPL 2025 fatigue and dipped in form – bad news for India

Indian players are playing non-stop cricket so far in 2025. After a tiring Australian Test tour, the main ICC Champions Trophy was an 8-match white-chain against England before the 2025 was revealed. As soon as he ended in brilliant fashion, IPL 2025 fans are giving non-stop cricketing action. All this and we have not completed four months of 2025.

The bowlers are bound to feel busy. Yes, there is a lot of break between IPL 2025 and first England vs India Test, but will be damaged. Most importantly, this year’s IPL has not been kind for the Indian party. Yes, Prasad Krishna and Arshdeep Singh’s choice has been fine. But what about the real beginning in England?

Shami, Bumrah in the worst stage for England Tour?

This came as a huge surprise when Jasprit Bumrah intensified his recovery to fit for the fifth game of Mumbai Indians (MI), a massive change from reports that stated that he would miss the April majority. However, the bottom line was that Bumrah is perfectly fine and pumped. However, their performance has decreased. The best bowler of this generation gave an all-time in IPL 2024 and BGT.

It would be somewhat unimaginable for him to maintain at that level for a series of another five match. Bumrah’s IPL 2025 Return is not very good. Yes, he has five wickets in many sports, but his general rhythm has not yet appreciated fans. It is more than 30 average – something that you do not combine with Bumrah.

Then comes Mohammed Shami, whose form is so bad that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) completely dropped him in his previous game. Shami has struggled in the IPL once in the IPL from 2019 to 2023, the highest wicket -taking IPL in 2025. Despite being bought by SRH for Rs 10 crore, Shami has taken only 5 wickets and 10.8 economy in 7 games of 52.20.

Their ineffectiveness is related, especially with the old ball. Unlike other pacers benefiting from lifting the saliva ban, Shami is not able to replicate her previous performances.

Akash is deep, Sirj is either not better

India will need the choice of Mohammad Sirj, Akash deep and rigorous Rana in England, where you will expect the seam bowlers to rule the roast. But then, his form has not been great either. Sirj, who started IPL 2025 with a blast, has seen a mini recession. In his first four matches, Siraj took nine wickets and perhaps the best pace. But since then, he has not been impressive.

Wandering the legs down, giving room to batsmen and not producing enough seam movement. In his last four matches, Siraj has taken just three wickets at an average economy rate of 53.00 and about 10. At the same time, Akash Deep, who was extremely inauspicious for not getting several wickets in BGT, has also returned after injury.

Like Shami, even the sky deep was dropped due to poor appearance. He played four games for Lucknow super veterans, but managed to take only three scale. This is not just that much; Akash in several senses, leaked at 12.25 and poor average of 49.00.

Indian bowler and his form is going to the Eng series

Bowler IPL 2025 data Worry
Jasprit Bumrah 5 Games – 5 wickets at 31.60 Not in full rhythm since returning from injury
Mohammad Siraj 8 Games – 12 wickets at 23.58 The form has deteriorated
Harshit Rana 8 Games – 11 wickets at 22.54 Not fatal enough
Mohammed Shami 7 Games – 5 wickets at 52.20 One of the worst pacers in IPL 2025
Sky deep 4 Games – 3 wickets at 49.00 Not in full rhythm since returning from injury
Ravindra jadeja 8 Games – 5 wickets at 33.20 Inconsistent
Washington beautiful 3 Games – 2 wickets at 32.00 Is not enough game time
By 25 April

Given all test expectations, things are not bright for India. 74-Match-Lumb tournament toll is one thing and not being able to perform continuously. All this is happening despite not having high scoring as its predecessor despite IPL 2025.
