India’s playing XI in 1 Test vs England: Koi Karun Nair, Washington Sundar in East-India Star Pick

The upcoming five-match test series against England will be an interesting as it will mark the new beginning for Team India. First, it will kick India’s campaign in the 2025-27 cycle of the World Test Championship and will be the first series after the testing retirement of skipper Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli. After the sudden departure of the pair, who should be the new captain of India in Test cricket and there is a lot of debate about former India opener Akash Chopra, with an interesting view.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra predicted India to play XI for the five -match Test series against England. He nominated Shubman Gill as captain and included KL Rahul as a opener, along with Yashsvi Jaiswal.
He also said that either Devdutt Padikkal or Sai Reformson will get a place in the team. However, he snatched all-rounder Washington Sundar and In-Form Karun Nair from XI.
“I am going with Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. There is no need to think about it, both of them also performed well in the BGT. It will be Yashasvi’s first visit to England, so I really hope to do well.
He said, “Sudarshan can be an out-of-box option because he is good so you want to play. This means captain, Shubman Gill, will go to number four,” he said.
Surprisingly, Chopra added pacer Deepak four to the team, who is still making his Test debut for India.
“At the age of 8, I am thinking of Shardul Thakur or Deepak Char. You will get depth in batting, which is in love with Gautam Gambhir. Originally, they are the bowlers who can bat a little without compromising on the bowlers …. If Mohammed Shami is fit then I will choose them, but if he is not there, I would like to go with the procession Chris.”
