Gambhir behind Pant’s non-celebration

Why did Rishabh Pant not celebrate his second hundred of the Headingley Test with a somersault? It looks like India head coach Gautam Gambhir told Pant not to do so. Pant had pulled out the celebration during the first innings and the IPL. Perhaps fearing an injury, Gambhir told the wicketkeeper not to do it again.

India has 3 Test captains?

Former Indian cricketer Murali Karthik thinks that during the final day of the first Test between India and England, it looked like not just Shubman Gill but also Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul were India’s Test captains. He added that senior players often help young captains but from his point of view, it was happening way too often and isn’t a great sign.

Bumrah shouldn’t play Edgbaston Test

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri thinks Jasprit Bumrah won’t play in the India vs England 2nd Test. He understands that by doing so, the visitors might go 0-2 down. But Shastri reckons that Bumrah may not have recovered despite a 7-day rest in between games and should play at Lord’s.

DRS 5

Jaiswal defended for dropped catches

Former India fielding coach R Sridhar has defended Yashasvi Jaiswal after the opener was heavily criticised for dropping 4 matches in Headingley. Sridhar says that Jaiswal has had just two bad games in his slip-fielding career and yet people aren’t sparing him. He added that the conditions were challenging and it was Jaiswal’s first experience of that particular environment.

Trouble in Rajasthan Royals’ paradise

Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale has accused Raj Kundra, former co-owner of the IPL franchise, of blackmail in a UK court. Badale has claimed that Kundra is blackmailing him by threatening to report him to Indian authorities regarding the matter. For the unaware, Kundra had to forfeit his 11.7% stake after being found guilty of betting on IPL games in 2015.
