A day after Team India lost the first England Test at Leeds, the management has released pacer Harshit Rana from the squad, as per a report in the Times of India. The pacer, who was part of the Australia tour, was kept in the squad as a precautionary measure, wasn’t seen boarding the bus to Birmingham.
Meanwhile, after the crushing defeat, the team is expected to rest for two days, and then will start training for the second IND vs ENG Test, starting July 8. “I haven’t spoken to the chairman selector; I will speak to the chairman of selectors because there was a bit of a niggle in the group. That is why we wanted him as a backup,” Gambhir had said on Rana following the first match.
“But at the moment, everything looks fine, so if everyone is fine, he would have to fly back,” he added.
