Chopra believes that at least three experts fast bowlers should feature in XI.“So I am thinking that you should have a minimum of three appropriate fast bowlers. The fourth fast bowler can be Sharadul Thakur, if you want, and then you can do Nitish Kumar Reddy as the fifth bowler and Ravindra Jadeja as the sixth bowler. So you have a bowling option, but not batting,” he said.
Alternatively, Chopra proposed Karun Nair as an expert batsman in number 6, took Jadeja to number 7 and selected for a four-dimensional speed attack except-Sharadul.Chopra also insisted that the first test would reveal Gill’s leadership philosophy. “It would be worth seeing how this era moves forward under the captaincy of Shubman Gill … The headingley match will decide what our thought process will be,” he said, taking into account India’s temptation to play an additional batsman due to a slight inexperienced batting lineup.
