Jasprit Bumrah is just more than a unique run-up-it is misleading, intelligent and metronomicly accurate. He not only saves a deadly bouncer, but also a destructive yorker.Oli Pope experienced the full strength of Bumrah’s talent during the Visakhapatnam Test last year. A picture of that moment – with the Pope of Balance, is trying hard to get down on delivery, and just one stump left – completely captured Bumrah’s magic. In an interview with TalkSport Cricket, England vice-captain Pope preferred to face Bumrah.“Yes, this is a challenge,” he said. “I think I have now played her in three different chains, and you are constantly trying to find ways to put her under some pressure.”Asked why the English batsmen do not just look to avoid their magic, the Pope explained:“I mean, he can bowl 20 overs a day – this is a lot. So, the way we talk about cricket, you want to absorb pressure when needed, and then, if necessary, try to put a man under a little pressure.”“But this does not mean that he is trying to collaborate on the border. It can just rotate the strike. If he is bowling a good spell, I am thinking, ‘Okay, how can I strike?” And my partner has thinking – so she does not get six balls in a row and uses all her skills.“There is no hidden behind him. But I am sure everyone has different ways to reduce their main dangers and to zero, and find their scoring areas. It is actually about keeping it as simple as possible.”Former England’s Pacer Stuart Broad also admitted on a podcast with Jose Butler that the series may result in Bumrah’s fitness – and England would prefer England if he does not play all five tests. For now, Bumrah has said that he is targeting three tests, but this decision may change on the basis of charge management. The first test of the five -match series begins in Leeds from 20 June.
