Former Australian all -rounder Tom Moody has slammed the selection of India’s team for the second Test against England. After winning the toss, England revealed their lineup to India and surprised many people by resting their best bowler, Jaspreet Bumrah, and did not pick up the wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who missed the loss of chain-ups in the leads last week.Sai Reformson, who made his Test debut in Leeds, and Shahardul Thakur was released, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar were selected in an attempt to balance the depth of batting with the side capable of taking 20 wickets. India became the first side to lose an exam after hitting five centuries. Bumrah was replaced by the sky deep.“India’s selection for this test is shocking,” Moody wrote on X.“There is no Bumrah one thing, but only five expert batsmen are gambling.“Fixation on all-rounders offering depth with bat and ball has never worked. Experts are always going to offer more on a test.”Former head coach and cricketer Ravi Shastri did not reveal his words, expressing dissatisfaction with India’s decision to rest the world’s number one speedster Jasprit Bumrah.Shastri said on Sky Sports, “You have the best fast bowler in the world, and you sit after seven days of rest. It is very difficult to believe, and I can’t agree with it.”

On lunch stroke, India lost Karun Nair (31) and KL Rahul (2), while Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to dazzle, made his way for an unbeaten 62 (69) to pursue the touring party till 98/2. Shastri reflected India’s adventures in the first session and gave unstable praise for Jaiswal.“I think they will be very happy, but will be disappointed with Nair’s dismissal time shortly before lunch. When you need to focus hardly – but very little Nair could have done so because the ball jumped from a length,” said Shastri. He said, “Jaiswal beautifully batted-a mixture of precaution and aggression. He played for his off-side strength and loosened anything,” he said.
