Frankie Montas will finally start his New York Met’s on Tuesday night.

Skiding Mates can only expect that he is almost as good at its return as Ronald Akuna has been for Junior rival Atlanta Braves.

Clubs will meet in New York on Tuesday night for the second game of the four-game series among the National League East rivals.

Montas, who all have been out of the season, have been slated to cope with fellow right-handed Spencer Sturders (2-5, 3.89 ERA), a perfect late injury, which is recovering from a perfect late injury.

Mets fell for the ninth time in the last 10 matches on Monday night, when Ekuna did homeing and Spencer Mogellebach threw seven strong innings as Brevs won 3–2.

This disadvantage dropped the Mets 1 1/2 games behind the pre-agron Philadelphia Philos, which were closed on Monday. New York led Philadelphia to the 5 1/2 game and set the best record in baseball at 45-24 on June 12.

The 1-9 stretch is the worst 10-game of the mates, as they lost nine out of 10 from June 2–13, 2023.

Mets struggled on plates and mounds during the recession, during which they are batting while posting 6.02 ERAs. 215.

Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto, the top three batsmen in the lineup jointly hit 4 -for -11 on Monday, when Soto hit a two -run homer. But through the fourth place, the ninth place hitters were just 2 -for -21.

Starter Paul Blackburn allowed all three runs in 4 2/3 innings as he became the ninth starter in the last five innings or less in the last 10 matches.

Met’s manager Carlos Mendza said, “We need to continue to support people, continue working.” “But it’s about the results, okay? So yes, we are confident in people, but we have become better.”

Montas, who signed a two -year -old, $ 34 million deal with Mets last December, would need to be better on Tuesday during his rehabilitation, when he posted 12.05 ERA in six. Mendoza and Basball Operation Chairman David Sterns hoped the two that Montas’s struggles were treating rehabilitation like their spring training.

Mendoza said, “I have seen him pitching for many years at this level and got success.” “Hopefully he will go out, compete and will give us a chance to win a baseball game every time.”

Expectations have always been high for Ekuna, who won NL Ruki of the Year in 2018 and won the MVP honor in 2023, when he returned from a torn ACL in his right knee, who became the first player in history with at least 40 Homer and 70 stolen bases in the same season.

Ekuna’s 2024 season ended due to a torn ACL in May, but she has been hitting 28 matches with nine homeers.

Brevs manager Brian Snightker said, “This is crazy – everything he has returned, honestly,” Braves manager Brian Snightkar said. “You just don’t see that after a player () missed so much time.”

Sturdear will be facing mates for the second straight start. He won last Thursday when he gave a run in six innings in Braves’ 7–1 domestic victory.
