Las Vegas- Ilya Topapuria performed well on her promise to eliminate Charles Olivera in the first two or three rounds, knocked out the future UFC Hall-Off-Famer with explosive combo 2:27 on Saturday night to fight for the vacant UFC Lightweight Crown.
Toppuria’s victory is the first undefeated two-division champion in UFC history and 10th in total. The 28-year-old, which fights under Georgian and Spanish nationalities, ranks third in the UFC’s pound-for-pound list.
The UFC 317 pay-per-view event ended with a face-off between Topapuria (17–0) and England star Paddy Pimbles, stating what would be almost certainly the 28-year-old Topuri’s first light title to protect in UFCs.
The 35-year-old Olivera, a heavy Dalit from Brazil, fell 35–11–0.
Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoza made a major attempt against the Challenger Kai-Kai France at the co-main program, beating New Josender with a vicious rear-naked choke at 1:55 in the third round. This victory was protecting the fourth consecutive title for Pantoja (30–5–0). He also overtook the all-time victory (14) in the UFC Lightweight History and Dimetrius Johnson as Finnish (eight) leaders.
12th ranked Lightweight Joshua van and top contender Brandon Royval is engaged in a panoramic stand-up controversy, with a valid opportunity to go down as a year’s fight. The performance marked the second victory of the van in three weeks after defeating Bruno Gustavo da Silva in UFC 316 on 7 June. Van, a Houston -native of Burmese Decent, dropped Roywal down in closed seconds of the battle before the last bell ringing for the most vigorous crowd pop of the evening.
The van unanimously won the verdict, 29–28 on a scorecard of all three judges.
Neither the fighter also tried a takedown for a period of three-round fight. Of the 468 strikes of royal, all were counted as an attempt to an important strike. The van also threw 306 important strikes, but was far more affordable with his shots with his shots with 209–311 compared to the 216-to-458 royal.
