The spring of IGA Sweetake’s dissatisfaction continued on Saturday when it was dropped by Daniel Colins in the third round of the Italian Open in Rome.

Coalins’ 6–1, 7-5 wins world number 2 looked impossible on paper on the number 2 player. Colins lost to Swetech in seven of their last eight matches. And Swiytech of Poland had won 21 of their last 22 matches in Clay Court in Rome, winning the title in three of the last four years.

But this is not the same sweatek. She has not won a tournament as she was winning her fourth Paris Grand Slam in the French Open in the last June in the Loland Garos. When the new ranking comes out on Monday, it will reach the highest from number 2 to number 4.

SWIATEK has conducted the ranking number 1 or number 2 since March 20, 2022. His nine defeats this season were equal to the number of him in the 2024 season, when it ended 64–9.

After the match, Colins said that he gained his experience in several matches with Swiyatech.

“Obviously, I played against IGA several times,” said Collins. “When you play many close matches and also play your best tennis and lose – you learn a lot.”

Coalins ended with 32 winners and 15 unexpected errors, compared to 15 and 22, respectively, for sweate. Colins also redeemed six of their eight brake opportunities, while Swiyatech took advantage of only two out of 10.

It was the first top 10 win for Collins in over a year and was his third win in 16 attempts against a world number 2 (Angelic Cerber, 2019, and Ashley Bartie, 2021).
