“If we wanted to expose someone …”: Cheteshwar Pujara on Australia Tour ‘Phone Call Leakes’ NDTV

Pooja, wife of Cheteshwar Pujara, made some shocked revelations in her book “The Diary of a Cricketer’s wife: A very unusual memoir”, who describes her husband’s journey to be one of the most reliable test batsmen. While the new Mr. became reliable for the team in Pujara whites, the graph of his career was seen below in the last few years, in which the team was looking at the youth options. However, no one can still forget the performances produced in Australia, especially during the 2018-19 tour, which first saw India safe under the Test series win.
However, in that series, the team also had talks about the demolition of Pujara. While the batsman did not know about this conversation, he used to listen to one thing on the phone, and was shaken to a great extent.
Pujara’s wife had to work hard to attract this revelation from the cricketer, and she also wrote about it in her book. However, the couple decided against the naming of the person who wanted the Pujara to be dropped from the team, to ensure that no dispute has been created.
In a special interview with NDTV, both Pujara and his wife opened about this special excerpt, which made headlines.
Pujara’s wife said, “The idea of writing that incident was not to describe it. The idea was how he remained calm and not impressed, showed courage and flexibility. An intention was no one was defective, it was not intended. It was not intended. It was intended to inspire everyone,” Pujara’s wife said.
Pujara said, “I don’t think he knows about it,” when asked whether the person described in the incident knows that it is being written in the book.
Pooja also intervened and said: “I don’t think anyone knows. The purpose is just a 2-line thing and not it is highlighted.”
Pujara then explained that the intention behind writing the episode was not to highlight anyone, therefore, the name of that person was not mentioned in the book.
“The person’s name is not in the book for a reason. If we wanted to highlight someone … I don’t want to pay much attention to it, yes I was disappointed about what was said. But, at the same time, you move forward, you look forward. You see a big picture. When you are representing the country, I have a work. I said that the team’s success was contributed.
“A lot of things were at stake, my father was not well. There were many views when I was going to play Sydney Test, but at the same time, but I knew that Pooja was taking care of her father. So, I was relieved,” said Pujara.
