Hurricane pulled away late, sun’s revenge loss

Gabby Williams recorded 18 points, five assistance and three thefts to help Seattle Storm to help the Seattle Storm in 79-65 win over Connectic Sun on Friday night.

Nneka Ogwumike offered 16 points and five assistance for Seattle, which on Wednesday stood strong, taking revenge on the 93-83 road loss. Skylar Digins had 14 points, five rebounds and five assistance, while Easy Magbegor had 14 points for Hurricane (13-8), who shot 58.1 percent from the ground in the second half.

Tina Charles had 20 points and 10 rebounds for The Sun (3–17), which lost the 11th time in her last 12 matches.

Sanya River scored 12 points, Olivia Nelson-Ododa had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Leela Lacon added 10 points to the bench and seven boards from the bench for the connectivity.

Storm scored seven straight points, to play with 4:54 led by 67–62 on Magbegor paste. Charles hit a jumper for Suraj, Erica Wheeler scored four straight points, as Seattle proceeded directly from 12-64 to 56.8 seconds to cap on two free throw by Ogwumike with Ogwumike.

Seattle scored the last six points of the third quarter and took a 55-52 lead in the final verse.

In the fourth, Connecticut scored six straight points with Charles, with the last two to the Sun with a 60–59 lead with 6:57.

Connecticut led to almost the first half and hit a jumper with a 33-31 lead with a 33-31 lead, with a 33-31 lead.

Charles had 10 points in a break for Suraj, while Digins and Magbegor had eight Apis for Seattle.

The Sun scored 10 out of the first 12 points of the game and took his biggest lead at 14–4 after a lacquer carry with 3:19 in the first quarter.
