Homecoming: Jonathan Tos joins jets in NHL returns

Three times Stanley Cup winner Jonathan Toz is returning to NHL and joining his hometown Vinypeg Jets on a year’s contract, the team announced on Friday.
The deal may not be official until the start of a free agency on 1 July.
Former Chicago BlackHox captain is out of the league since February 2023, which are due to the effect of long covid and chronic immune response syndrome.
“St. Vital’s child is coming home,” Jets posted on X, referring to the neighborhood in Vinnipag where they were decorated.
“I am thankful that I am making my comeback to NHL with Vinnipag Jets,” Tos said. “It is very special to come home in front of my family and friends in Manitoba. Jets are growing in the last few sessions and I am eager to join and help the group, although I can.”
The 37-year-old, Tows, took Chicago to a six-year interval for three Stanley Cup titles (2009-10, 2012-13, 2014-15). He won the Con Smith Trophy as the MVP of the 2009-10 Stanley Cup playoffs.
TOES also competed on the team Canada in efforts to win the gold-medal in the 2014 and 2014 Olympics.
“We are excited to add a Siddha winner like Jonathan Toz in Vinypeg Jets,” said General Manager Kevin Cheleadeoff. “This will be a unique opportunity for Jonathan to play for its hometown team. His talent, drive, and experience will be a great supplement to our club. We will withdraw further comments by 1 July.”
Towws have 372 goals and 511 assistance in 1,067 games. In the 2006 draft, the number 3 overall pick was chosen as one of the top 100 players of NHL in its first 100 sessions.
He won the Selke Trophy in 2012-13 as NHL’s best defensive forward and Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2014-15.
